I am an upholsterer specialising in restoring and reupholstering both traditional and contemporary upholstered furniture, based in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
I specialise in the sale of restored traditional Victorian, Edwardian and retro(1960/70s) upholstered furniture.
Take a look at my for sale pages for the latest sofas and chairs available.
To ensure that furniture is restored to the highest standards possible, and in keeping with its period, I use traditional methods and fillings. All fabrics used are of a high quality from leading suppliers.
If you cannot find the piece of furniture you are looking for, or it is in the wrong fabric for your décor, please look at my awaiting restoration page. If I haven’t got what you want email or ring me and I will endeavour to source it for you.
I offer a complete re-upholstery service. I have over 30 year’s experience in both modern and traditional upholstery. Whether it is a dining chair or a three piece suite, restoration, recovering or repair – I can meet your needs.

“The chair looks brilliant, it’s just what I wanted.” Cerys Usk
“I am happy to say, I would highly recommend Nigel he is prompt, reliable, his workmanship is faultless coupled with reasonable prices! Thoroughly recommend.”
“We are just so happy that we discovered NJH Upholstery. Nigel is extremely skilled and we have been so impressed with the high quality of his work. Nigel sourced a Victorian Chesterfield sofa for us in 2010 and upholstered it in our chosen fabric, and we have since returned to have a second sofa (again, sourced by Nigel) upholstered in matching fabric. Nigel is extremely helpful, and a pleasure to deal with- we didn’t hesitate in recommending NJH Upholstery to friends and colleagues, who have also been delighted with Nigel’s work. We won’t go anywhere else now! Thank you!”
